Hey, I'm Candace! I'm majoring in Computer Science and minoring in General Business at the University
of Maryland, and I was also a part of the Media Scholars program.
I've loved being creative and designing things since I was young, and I really got interested in
programming because I saw it as a way to make my ideas come to life. Whether it was building websites
and programs for games I played or tinkering with computer vision algorithms in high school, I've
always gotten a thrill from coding. Now, I also enjoy sharing this passion by involving myself in
activities to foster a stronger tech community.

Empathy 😊
Selected from 15,000+ applicants to join one of 14 teams at Wilmington, DE. With only 24 hours, our team of 7 built out a solution for Heart in the Game, one of the two non-profits at the event. We were able to win first place!
We focused on completely addressing the needs and primary challenges that HITG faced, and decided to build an all-in-one web solution to manage their digital presence. With such a large team, I also found that communication was crucial in developing our approach. |
